Dade County is pleased to welcome Mr. Chris Chance (chrischance@dadecountyschools.org) as the new Dade County Director of Bands. Mr. Chance is a 2004 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a 1999 graduate of Cherokee High School in Rogersville, Tennessee. Most recently, Mr. Chance served as the Director of Bands at Morristown-Hamblen High School East where he taught beginning, marching, concert, and jazz bands, as well as Music Appreciation and Music Theory. Mr. Chance is a member of the 572nd United States Air Force Band where he holds the rank of Staff Sergant. He is also a member of the National Music Educators Association (MENC), the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Assocation, the Tennessee Bandmasters Association, the Tennessee Secondary Schools Band Directors Association, the International Trumpet Guild, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity of America. Mr. Chance resides in the South Dade Community with his wife Heather (Hale) and their daughter, Makeala. Parents...Students...a NEW mailing list is being compiled. Band Camp for the 2008-2009 marching season will take place as follows: July 23 - 8:00-12:00 July 24 - 8:00-12:00 July 25 - 8:00-12:00 July 28 - 8:00-5:00 July 29 - 8:00-8:00 July 30 - 8:00-5:00 July 31 - 8:00-8:00 August 1 - 8:00-3:00 with a performance for parents at 6:00 PM (possibly with a picnic to follow) The Band Camp Fee for the upcoming season will $100.00.
